Summer meetings every Sunday at noon!

June 23, 2010

If you want to help the Half, come to our meetings, every Sunday at noon. Come to both if you can, if not come to whichever is most convenient for you, we need your help!

Meetings are held at: 734 1/2 East Hyde Park Blvd., Inglewood, 90306.

Come help us with our summer goals:

-Raise $4,000 to move into a new, bigger, and permanent space

-Throw a 3 day music festival in mid-August to raise funds/awareness

-Raise local awareness and address local needs

As soon as we’ve accomplished these steps, we can start offering regular services to the community.

E-mail hydeparkhalf@gmail.com if you’d like to be added to our mailing list.

One Big Event

January 15, 2010

Hello all.

Hopefully you can make it out to One Big Event tomorrow!  We’ll have Mexican food, art on the walls, some shirts being screenprinted live, a few spoken word performers, comedy, and some acoustic acts!  The night starts at 7pm and goes until 10pm.  Should be a great time to come learn about the space and what we hope to do!  See you there!

Claiming The Space

December 31, 2009

On December 28, a mass of people gathered to begin the beautification process of Hyde Park Half. Everyone is an artist! Creative self-expression is a strong focus of our establishment. What better way to live up to that mission than to open up the walls to be painted by members of the community, artists, activists, and students. We ended with a cornucopia of creations, all of which give the space a distinct identity and culture. Email us if you are interested in painting a mural at a later date.

We are getting closer…

We will be having an array of events coming up with the new year. Check out the Calendar to keep “in the know” with what is going on.

Happy New Year.
